Name: Vorik Rank: Ensign Born: 2350 Origin: Vulcan Place of Birth: Raal, Vulcan Assignment: U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 Last Ship: U.S.S. Independence NCC-41452 Academy Class: 2370 6th percentile Achievements: First Runner-up, Dominguez Prize for Senior Project; Citation for bravery, 2371 Vorik served midshipman tour aboard U.S.S. Independence; introduced new dilithium crystal matrix protocols that improved power conversion efficiency by 6%. Assigned after graduation to U.S.S. Voyager as a duty engineer in 2371. Presumed lost on Voyager's first mission to the Badlands to pursue a Maquis vessel, when Starfleet lost contact with ship on stardate 48307.5. Voyager was actually swept to the Delta Quadrant by alien technology; recently, contact was briefly re-established with the ship, providing the following information. Received commendation for remaining calm and efficient after deaths of several crew members in engineering during ship's violent passage to Delta Quadrant. Served with distinction. In 2373, shortly before Voyager entered region of space known as Nekrit Expanse, Vorik assisted chief engineer B'elanna Torres with maintenance of plasma injectors. Shortly after stardate 50460, Vorik assisted Lieutenant Torres in checking ship's systems when Voyager was disabled after observing an inversion nebula. It was later determined the ship's systems were being controlled by an alien entity outside the ship named Marayna. In early 2374, Vorik worked with former Borg drone Seven of Nine and Lieutenant Torres to create a temporary tachyon matrix within the main deflector in order to generate a Borg-style transwarp corridor. The experiment was unsuccessful. Vorik later worked with Seven of Nine to create an energy matrix to generate thorium isotopes. The matrix was donated to the Cotati, refugees from Borg assimilation. Confidential Medical Log: On stardate 50537, Vorik experienced pon farr. He telepathically induced pon farr effects in chief engineer Torres when he attempted to mate with her, though she spurned his advances. Pon farr was ended when he fought Torres in hand-to-hand combat to fulfill the koon-ut-kal-if-fee ritual.
